He worked closely with the royal ice-cream maker at Buckingham Palace where he showed off the flavour of sorbets and other ice creams “à la Française".
Returning to France in 1984, Patrice Chapon created his own chocolate-making laboratory. He soon participated in various trade and public shows. Numerous prizes came his way, notably the Grand Prize of Chocolate of the Mayor of Paris. His travels to plantations in search of a unique type of bean, his desire for authenticity and his childhood memories reawaken forgotten tastes at his three sales outlets.
